Shanna Hourihan received her undergraduate degree in General Business Administration from the University of South Florida. She then graduated from the University of Florida Levin College of Law, where she was a member of the Florida Journal of International Law.

Prior to joining the Law Office of Carmen R. Gillett, Shanna served as an Assistant State Attorney in Sarasota and Manatee County for over 10 years. During her tenure, she took over 70 cases to jury trial. As a Violent Crimes Specialist, Shanna handled serious and high profile cases, including one that was featured on Discovery ID’s American Monster TV series, in which she appeared.

Shanna is a member of the Sarasota County Bar Association, as well as, the Judge John M. Scheb American Inns of Court. She is admitted to practice in the Supreme Court of Florida and in the United States District Court for the Middle District of Florida.

Shanna handles divorce, paternity, child support, dependency, and injunction cases.  Due to her background in criminal law, she also practices all types of criminal defense.
