Carmen R. Gillett, founder of the law firm in 2007, is Board Certified by the Florida Bar in the practice area of marital and family law (since 2004); and has been practicing exclusively marital and family law since 1998. She is a fellow of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers AAML andthe International Academy of Family Lawyers IAFL. She handles complex divorce litigation issues, including but not limited to international custody disputes, jurisdictional disputes, military divorces and appeals of family law issues. She is also trained in the collaborative family law process and is Certified by the Supreme Court of Florida as a family law mediator. In addition, Carmen R. Gillett, has recently received her L.L.M. in Elder Law from the Stetson College of Law. The closely related nature of elder law to family law will permit Ms. Gillett to expand her law practice to focus on assisting individuals and families with the legal issues that arise at crucial times in their lives. An example would be time sharing and support issues relating to a disabled child of divorce.
