The AAML Foundation is a charitable organization which advances one of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers’ most important goals: to protect children and families.
The American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers is composed of the nation’s top attorneys who are experts in the field of matrimonial law, including divorce, prenuptial agreements, legal separation, annulment, custody, property valuation, support and the rights of unmarried cohabitors.
The purpose of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers is to encourage the study, improve the practice, elevate the standards and advance the cause of matrimonial law, to the end that the welfare of the family and society be protected.
Being a member of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers means:
- The attorney has substantial experience and is able to handle complex matters relating to custody and support of children, property division and alimony or spousal support.
- The attorney is recognized by the bench and bar as a leading practitioner in the area of matrimonial law.
- The attorney has demonstrated an active interest and competency in matrimonial law as evidenced by the fulfillment of criteria and standards as established by the AAML Board of Examiners and Board of Governors.
The mission of AAML is to provide leadership that promotes the highest degree of professionalism and excellence in the practice of family law.
